LingoAce vs Lingostar

October 19, 2025
LingoAce and Lingostar are both online language learning services that use live video lessons with a teacher. They are designed for preschool- and school-aged children, provide a pool of qualified teachers and suitable mobile apps. Both startups are based in Singapore.

But LingoAce (founded in 2017) initially specialized in teaching Mandarin Chinese but then expanded to English and even additional areas - math and music. The service bets on using multimedia content, gamification and interactive tools and offers both one-on-one and group lessons. The company also launched several offline learning centers (Ace Academy Learning Centers) in the United States and Australia.

Lingostar (2022) focuses on teaching English only in one-teacher-one-student format. The service uses proprietary learning materials developed in collaboration with Oxford Thinker. Teachers are primarily native English speakers from USA, Canada, UK and Australia, most of them have TEFL/TESOL certification.
